Food distribution

In the spirit of Ramadan and Eid, our volunteers have been distributing food packages to key workers in our area, including GP and dentist surgeries, the police and fire departments, waste disposal teams and staff at local schools.

These packages are a small gesture of thank you to our local key workers for their tireless efforts to serve our communities during extraordinary circumstances. As we have not been able to invite our local partners and neighbours to Hijaz to join us for evening meals during Ramadan, we have distributed delicious home-made food to our neighbours in Hinckley and Nuneaton.

Wonderful feedback from recipients of our food parcels:

“Islamic community near Hinckley provides 1,700 meals for key workers in town ‘Our food packages are a small token of gratitude for their great efforts.’”Leicester Mercury, 16th June 2021
